Applewood Hall Wedding Photography- Kirsty and Ben

When Kirsty approached me about shooting her and Ben’s wedding at Banham Zoo I was both puzzled and intrigued in equal measure. It had never occurred to me having a wedding at a Zoo was even possible. Little did I know there is such a place called Applewood Hall, which sits in the grounds of Banham Zoo, a zoo which brings back fond memories from visits with my grandparents as a child. I was still slightly dubious we would actually be able to take photos in the zoo but I need not have worried as we were granted VIP access for a short time during the day to take in the sights, see some animals and of course visit the giraffes.

Kirsty got ready both at a local hair salon and at her mother’s home, with her bridesmaids all around her. Ben got ready at his and Kirsty’s home and they were in the capable hands of Sam Gee, another top notch photographer who often works with me. From there it was off to church for the ceremony (sadly marrying in the monkey enclosure is not yet a thing in the UK, more’s the pity). And then back to Applewood Hall for the reception and of course our adventure in the Zoo!

If you are getting married in a Zoo, or anywhere else for that matter and are looking for a wedding photographer, be sure to check out my packages and get in touch to check availability. Dates book up anywhere up to 2 years in advance so always worth checking availability as soon as you have a date in the diary.
