Seems a lifetime ago I shot this beautiful Henham Barns Wedding of Emily and Harry, with the ceremony taking place on the iconic bridge that many thousands will be more familiar with as a gateway to the ever popular Latitude Festival. When Henham isn’t playing host to some of the biggest bands in the country and far away from the madding crowds that comes with it, it is a simply jaw dropping oasis of woodland and green open spaces, complete with rolling hills, a rarity in one of the flattest counties in England. When you plan to get married outside you need a little bit of luck on your side with regards the weather and boy were these two lucky! It was a bluebird day and the few clouds that did circulate only served to provide some dramatic and stunning backdrops when Emily and Harry took some time for a quiet stroll just the two of them, to really take in the atmosphere of this most special of locations.
Unless you’ve visited Henham for some take away pizzas (yes this is is a thing and I am told they are fantastic) or maybe attended a yoga class there, you may not know about the beautiful barns that hold the wedding receptions; it’s not a place you will see while attending Latitude that’s for sure (in fact apart from the bridge, I didn’t recognise anything of Henham the wedding venue when attending Henham the festival venue). The barns are beautiful and perfect for any size of wedding, small or large; I love shooting places like this.
With me on this one was a good friend of mine and excellent photographer Pete Denness. Pete is a Cambridge based wedding photographer and works like a trojan during wedding season with his own weddings, but he always manages to find the odd date or two to come and second shoot for me; which is awesome, Pete is one of the best documentary photographers I know (even though you’ll often find him doing some creative and dramatic things with lighting at his own weddings).
Right enough waffle, check out this cracking wedding below and as ever if you are looking for a wedding photographer do get in touch via the contact form at the bottom of any page on this website. 2022 is already looking like it’s going to be crazy busy so don’t hesitate to check availability for your date!
