High Lodge Wedding- Darsham
Josh and Tracey married on a pleasant September day at their local church in Worlingham. After a lovely service and a few photos outside the church, it was off to High Lodge in Darsham for the reception.
Josh and Tracey decided they didn’t want to have any preparation photos, which is completely fine. As I tell all my lovely couples I am simply there to photograph their big day and fulfil their photography wishes (within reason, I draw the line at boudoir shoots ha). So for me the day began at Worlingham Church, which is only a few short minutes from Josh and Tracey’s home. I genuinely like Churches in terms of their aesthetics and architecture and Worlingham is no different. However it was one of the more challenging Churches I have shot in as the light is fairly dim and the layout of the church prevented me from being in my most favoured position at the front to the vicar’s left. However the couple didn’t mind and I was still able to get some great coverage of the service, with the assistance of my trusty second shooter Charlie of course, who had taken up a great position at the back of the Church. After the service there was time enough to get a few photos in the Church grounds before the couple jumped in their classic wedding car and were whisked away to High Lodge for the reception!
The couple had some lovely personal touches to their day, with a Scottish Bagpiper paying tribute to Josh’s roots, a sweetie table paying tribute to well…..a love of sweets and lots of little table decorations making it completely their own. The grounds of High Lodge are vast and one could spend ages walking around taking photos, but I managed to resist that temptation and returned the happy couple to their guests after a 20 minute photo session. Charlie and I stayed until the evening and captured some great shots of the couple and their guests and finished the day photographing the couple’s very sweet first dance. Here are some of the highlights of the day…
