Ivy House Country Hotel Wedding- Aaron and Merissa

As the main wedding season was drawing to a close last October I was lucky enough to shoot the lovely Ivy House Country Hotel wedding of Aaron and Merissa. The venue has become one of the premier wedding venues in the area under the new owners and it’s easy to see why. With 21 acres of grounds to explore there was so much more to see than just the gardens that are surround the picturesque buildings at Ivy House Country Hotel.

Aaron and Merissa have ties to Hopton Church and that was their church of choice for the official ceremony. Not living in the immediate area any more they needed a qualifying connection to marry at Hopton Church and I am sure the guys were super excited when they got the permission they needed to marry there as it is a lovely little church. Aaron is an Army man and married Merissa in full dress, complete with traditional sword. After marrying in the church they even had a guard of honour as they proceeded out of the church and into the awaiting rose petal confetti tunnel. From there it was back to Ivy House Country Hotel for the wedding reception.

I managed to take Aaron and Merissa off on their own for a quick 15 minute photo shoot in some of the stunning surroundings at Ivy House. Having never shot a wedding there previously I was keen to explore beyond the immediate grounds and the neatly cut paths amongst the wild and natural grass allow us to get onto the marshes that overlook the broads and the Maltings off in the distance. The autumn light was perfect for photos and the couple were treated to a lovely October afternoon in the soft sunshine before joining the rest of their guests for dinner in the barn.

Then all that was left to do was party! My favourite local band, The Story Teller, provided the live entertainment and got he party going right off the bat which made for some awesome shapes being cut on the dance floor!

Here are some of the highlights from the day…
