So, slight confession time, I am very, very behind with my blogging. However that being said a great wedding is a great wedding and the Newland Hall wedding of Liza and Mike that I shot back in late 2016, is indeed a great wedding and well worthy of a little blog post of some of my favourite images from the day. If anyone is familiar with the Newland Hall wedding venue in Essex, their eagles eye will quickly spot that Liza did not get ready there! No, instead Liza got ready at the equally lovely Pontlands Park Hotel just outside Chelmsford. As a wedding photographer, you never know what lighting challenges a hotel room is going to throw up, but the room at Pontlands Park I found myself in was blessed with the presence of a roof lantern (big skylight to you and me) and it just provided the most amazing light to work with! The boys were elsewhere in the hotel as well in the capable hands of my second shooter Pete Denness.
Liza and Mike got married in a church, a church with some pretty strict rules, one of which was that under no circumstances was I to take pictures during any part of the ceremony! I was even guarded closely by the rector to make sure I didn’t do my usual sneaky shooting in silent mode from the back. It’s always a shame when I can’t document the ceremony in a church because of such rules. Especially as discretion is something I pride myself on. However ever respectful I did what I could and Liza and Mike were happy with the situation. Thankfully there were no such rules for the rest of the lovely day at Newland Hall, which is a beautiful Essex wedding venue tucked away also just outside Chelmsford.
Here are a just a few highlights from the day.
